Who We Are

"It's easier to list what we don't do, than to name everything we can do."

That line started as a joke on a job site and stuck, because it's true in the way that matters. AGP Construction is a commercial general contractor based at 32300 Howard Ave in Madison Heights, working across Metro Detroit: Oakland and Macomb counties first, the wider region when the project calls for it. We build commercial interiors and structures (offices, multi-family, retail) and we maintain what commercial buildings need maintained: roofs, walls, paint and framing.

Construction and maintenance under one roof isn't a branding decision. It's how buildings actually live. The company that built your suite is the right one to patch it after the IT contractor's cable pull, and the crew that knows your roof from the maintenance program is the right one to plan its replacement. Clients start with us on either side and tend to stay for both.

What we're not: a marketing operation with a construction division. You won't get a "solutions journey." You'll get a walkthrough, a line-item bid, a named superintendent, a weekly update, and a building that got finished when we said it would. Line-item bids with quantities and allowances shown. If another bid is cheaper, you'll be able to see exactly what it doesn't include. Sometimes that comparison wins us the job, sometimes it saves you from a bad one.

Every project has a superintendent whose phone number you have. Questions get answered by the person standing on your site, not routed through an office.

Core trades run under our direct supervision, with licensed mechanical, electrical and specialty partners we've worked with for years. Either way, one company is responsible for the result: this one.

Permits pulled properly, inspections met, lien waivers on time, closeout packages complete. The unglamorous documents are where trust is actually built. Lenders and landlords remember clean files.

AGP is three things at once, and that's the part most contractors can't say. We're the general contractor. We run our own maintenance crews. And we own and manage a portfolio of commercial properties ourselves.

That last one changes how we bid. When we price your building, we're pricing work we also buy for our own. We already know what a deferred repair costs two years out, which corner cut shows up on a walkthrough and which one shows up on the rent roll, and what a slipped schedule does when there's a tenant waiting on the space.

You're not explaining property management to us. We do it too.

The shop and office sit in Madison Heights, minutes from I-75 and I-696, which puts Troy, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Detroit, Sterling Heights and Farmington Hills inside our everyday radius, with Ann Arbor and the wider metro a straight drive west.
